Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

Miss Hamilton will be your teacher in Year 4 and Mrs Burrows is our teaching assistant.

In Year 4, the children will experience a wide range of subjects and a variety of learning opportunities. The children will be given the chance to ask questions and guide their own learning, deciding which areas of the curriculum they would like to investigate further. Each half term we will focus on a different history or geography unit and in English, we will use a range or books as inspiration for our writing. Over the year, we will also complete art and DT units linked to our class book as well as music, swimming, PE and French every week. We are also really eager to take part in Forest School, where we will get to explore, have fun in the forest and best of all get really muddy!

In Year 4, the children are still developing their independence and are being encouraged to achieve to the best of their ability.  We provide a challenging learning environment where all children are supported to make progress in their learning. All lessons are planned carefully to make them exciting and stimulating. Where possible, influence is drawn from children's interests and current global affairs.  Thus giving children meaningful and purposeful contexts for learning.

If you have any further questions or would like advice on how to support your child more at home, please don't hesitate to come and see us!

Miss Hamilton
