Helping your child with schoolwork

What does your child learn about in school?

This website is an excellent source of information about ways to support your child in school.  Under the Curriculum tab on the main menu, there are sections about each subject studied in school and some links to websites.  There are also details of the Age Related Expectations for the end of each year group.

If you want to know a bit more about what your child is learning in school there then there are a few ways to find out.

Talk to your child about their day.  Being able to recall and discuss their learning is an important skill which takes time to develop.

Each half term your child will bring home a newsletter to let you know what their class will be learning about over the next few weeks.  If you have any questions about it, you should speak to your child's class teacher.

Parent/Carer meetings are an excellent way of discussing your child's progress in more detail.  We hold two formal parent/carer evenings a year plus informal pop in sessions, but you can book an appointment to see your child's teacher at any other time you have a concern.

Information is also often shared on our school Facebook account, including live feeds of exciting events in school and on residentials.   If you have anything you would like including on the website please email and let us know!
