Welcome to Sankey Valley St James CE Primary School

At Sankey Valley St James CE VA Primary School children are at the heart of all that we do. Through the strong Christian ethos that permeates throughout the school our children exhibit the highest standards of behaviour and attitudes to work. Our curriculum is exciting and innovative and we continually strive to give our children the values, knowledge and skills that they need, in order to be the best that they can be.

We cannot achieve this without the support of our parents and invite you to join with us in a partnership that is crucial in challenging the children to achieve their full potential.

At Sankey Valley we highly value our links with communities in other countries and strong links are being fostered with a school in Germany.  This developing partnership not only gives our children an understanding of, tolerance for and empathy towards others it allows them to develop friendships, share work and ideas and identify with the common bonds that we all share.

We are proud of our school and would love to show you around.  Unfortunately due to the current Covid-19 restrictions we are unable to invite you to look round  in person at this time so please do have a look at our Open Day video below which we hope you find informative and gives you a flavour of our school.

Change of End of Term Date
Dear Parents and Carers You may have seen on the news that schools are advised that they can have Friday 18th December as an INSET day. This means that the school will be closed to pupils on that day. As a school we have decided to implement this for the following reason. Families and staff have to be aware that they could be contacted by Track & Trace for up to 6 days after we have broken up, if there is a confirmed case of Covid amongst either pupils or staff. This takes us all up to Christmas Eve. The Government is allowing families to meet within the allowed bubbles from 23rd to 27th December. By having the INSET on the Friday this means the last day of school for children is Thursday 17th December. We are hoping this gives everyone peace of mind that if you haven't heard anything by 23rd December you will be clear of any potential Covid contact via school. Many thanks for your continued support.
