Welcome to Year 4!
My name is Miss H Shannon and I am the class teacher in Year 4. We are supported by Mrs C Burrows in class who is the teaching assistant.
In Year 4, the children will experience a wide range of subjects and a variety of learning opportunities. Each half term in English, we will focus on one book to work on a range of Year 4 writing and grammar objectives. Each half term we will focus on a History or Geography topic and an Art or DT unit. Each week we will also have Music, PE, Science, Computing and French lessons. Miss Wheeler teaches our Music lessons and Mrs Burrows teaches French. Some of us will also be learning in our Forest School during the first half term! The Year 4 curriculum overview can be found in the 'Our Curriculum' section of the website. Our PE days are Mondays and Wednesdays. In the Spring term, we will complete 10 weeks of swimming lessons on a Friday afternoon. During this term, our PE day will be a Wednesday.
In Year 4, the children are still developing their independence and are being encouraged to achieve to the best of their ability. We provide a challenging learning environment where all children are supported to make progress in their learning.
