Mrs Brough

Welcome to our Nursery

We're so excited to welcome you and your child to our nurturing and fun-filled nursery, based right here at Sankey Valley St James Primary School. We care for children aged 2-4 years, providing a fantastic foundation for their learning journey.

What a typical day looks like:

Each day at our nursery is a new adventure, packed with exciting activities designed to help children learn and grow through play. Here's a little peek into what your child can expect:
  • A warm welcome: Our experienced and caring staff will greet your child with a smile, making them feel safe and happy from the moment they arrive.
  • Playtime with purpose: We offer a wide range of stimulating activities, from creative arts and crafts to exciting outdoor play in our safe and secure outdoor provision. We focus on developing key skills like communication, language, physical development, and social skills, all while having lots of fun!
  • Learning through play: We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which sets the standards for learning, development, and care of children from birth to 5 years old. This means that everything we do is carefully planned to support your child's individual needs and interests.
  • Snacks and meals: We provide healthy and nutritious snacks and meals throughout the day, catering to any dietary requirements your child may have.

Our experienced staff:

Our nursery is led by a team of dedicated and experienced early years practitioners who are passionate about providing high-quality care and education.  Our Nursery teacher is Mrs M Brough and our teaching assistants are Mrs A Keates, Mrs J Mak.They are all DBS checked and hold relevant qualifications in childcare and early years education.

Funding:

We understand that childcare costs can be a concern for families, which is why we offer access to government funding for eligible children:
  • 15 hours funding: All 3 and 4-year-olds are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year.
  • 30 hours funding: Some families may be eligible for an extended entitlement of 30 hours free childcare per week.
  • Extra hours can be purchased if children are not entitled to 30 hours childcare for free.
We can provide you with more information about eligibility and how to apply for funding. Here is the link to the Government site to apply for 30 hours childcare. https://www.gov.uk/get-tax-free-childcare

We believe that every child is unique and special, and we strive to create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment where they can thrive. We would love to show you around our nursery!
